REVIEW: Celine Trapeze

Celine Trapeze, baby sister of the Celine Luggage Tote.

If Céline‘s Luggage tote is the edgy answer to the Birkin, then the Trapeze is the Kelly’s more flamboyant counterpart. Single-handled with a large, sure-of-itself flap, it’s more streamlined and elegant than the Luggage, which, while appealing, verges on the cluttered side. Not the Trapeze. It has the foundation of a traditional tote – the classic square-ish shape and simple clasp on a foldover closure – but clearly, this bag is anything but traditional. With fanned-out sides (that may be tucked in for an even more sleek silhouette), so distinctive in their bold direction and flared shape, it’s both uncomplicated and totally wild. In light-catching calfskin leather, winter-divine calfskin and shearling, irresistible python, and crocodile-embossed (plus, in two sizes), it’s going to be a tough call to choose just one. It’s swinging, it’s shapely, and since it definitely has the potential to put conventional tote bags to shame, it might inspire a Céline revolution (not that there’s not one in progress already!). - Bag Snob

So many selections after each season, with the sleek & modern simple design I reckon the Trapeze can be recreated into so many possibilities of colors, textures & prints!

FOOD: Eyuzu @ Eastin Hotel, PJ

Earlier this month, I chanced upon being invited to Eastin Hotel in PJ to Eyuzu Japanese Restaurant. Mann, I didn't even know that there was a Japanese restaurant in there! Actually Eastin Hotel, PJ is situated quite near to One Utama Shopping Complex, only a few minutes drive (provided that traffic is good hehe)

Eastin Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
Situated between two of Malaysia’s most bustling commercial hubs, Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya boasts excellent access to numerous business centres via its strategic location on the SPRINT highway. Neighbouring thriving residential communities like Phileo Damansara, SS2, TTDI, and Damansara Uptown, Eastin Hotel can be reached via a network of major expressways. It is also just a 15-minute short drive away from KL Sentral interchange terminal for trains, coaches and the LRT. For retail therapy and entertainment, hop on our free daily shuttle service to major shopping malls nearby. Business or pleasure, Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya is where the action gets central.

And Eyuzu Restaurant is situated on the 1st Floor, easy to get by with lifts or climb a flight of stairs.

Let's get on with the food aye? Personally I'm a huge fan of sushi & what a delight to be served this. I'm not big on sashimi (so was Naz), as I'm afraid if it would taste too fishy. Well we were served with assorted raw fish including tuna, salmon, sea bass & raw squids. Surprisingly they tasted so good! GUARANTEED FRESH SASHIMI at Eyuzu ♥
Price start from RM95++ for sashimi and RM40++ for Eyuzu Maki
The Maki Sushi (Soft Shell Crab Sushi) was crunchy & yummy as well. I'm feeling hungry now oh boy...

GIVEAWAY: Go Forth | RM250 Levi's Vouchers!

Eversince I know the meaning of wearing denim for everyday casual wear when I was a kid, LEVI's is the first brand that would pop on my mind as the leading and most memorable denim line ever created. After decades that thought has not changed since. I am in awe on how Levi's has managed to become a staple product in every single men & women's wardrobe all over the world, my first Levi's that I bought with my own money during my teen years was a pair of skinnies and it's still as good now as it was the first time I bought it, albeit getting that worn out look after a few (hundred) washes ;)

My first Levi's is probably one of the most worn jeans, to class to dates and to casual family hour. It has seen me grow, literally because now I can not fit into it anymore! But memory remains and I think I still have it at my mom's house and there's no way I'm gonna give it up. I'd probably pass it down to my kids in the future, pretty sure Levi's will still be trendy and just as awesome as it was in 1800, now and in the future.

Unlike other denim brands, Levi's has also come up with Levi’s® Curve ID which utilises a unique, customised fit system focusing on a woman’s shape and proportions, not her size. The Levi’s® brand designers studied body scans of more than 60,000 women to develop custom fits based on the difference between the measurement of a woman’s hip and seat–the greater the difference, the more curvy the body–
and include:

Slight Curve – Gracefully Straight
Slight Curve is designed to define a woman’s waist while accentuating her curves. If jeans fit in the hips and thighs but are too tight in the waist, a woman should try the Slight Curve.

Demi Curve – Elegantly Hourglass
Demi Curve is designed to flatter a woman’s waist while smoothing her shape. If jeans usually fit in the waist but don’t flatter the figure, a woman should try the Demi Curve.

Bold Curve – Beautifully Curvy
Bold Curve is designed to hug the waist without gapping or pulling. If jeans fit in the hips and thighs but gap in the back, a woman should try the Bold Curve.

I went to get measured at a Levi's store last year and found out that I'm actually Demi Curve, at a glance I thought I was actually Slight Curve but hey turns out I have more curve after all.

Charity: Blackmore's 80 Good Deeds Contest

Blackmores was founded in Australia in the 1930s by Maurice Blackmore, a naturopath with a vision and passion to provide natural health products and information to people. Through decades of intense research and development in the healing properties of natural herbs and minerals, the company has expanded globally and become well-known for its high-quality vitamins and dietary supplements (VDS) and for its integrated and holistic approach to healthcare in the quest for a healthier and happier world.

Launched in Malaysia in 1976, Blackmores offers a wide range of health and dietary supplements including the basic Multivitamins and Vitamin C range and those that are targeted at specific conditions such as CoQ10 and the Heart Health range, among others. Blackmores has been performing well in the Malaysian VDS industry with an average Compound Annual Growth Rate of 16% for the past five years. Following this achievement, Blackmores is also the recipient of many accolades and awards including the Most Trusted Vitamin and Supplement Brand in the 2012 Readers Digest Most Trusted Survey and won the Superbrands Awards.

So recently Blackmores celebrated their 80th Anniversary & kick started the 80 Deeds Campaign by donating RM80,000 worth of Blackmores supplements to 25 old folks homes and underprivileged children homes in the Klang Valley & Selangor, more on that here [link]. In conjunction with that Blackmores also invites their fans & followers to follow their good deed and submit them to! Participants have the chance of winning  the Grand Prize of  2D/1N stay at Avillion Port Dickson and a Blackmores hamper worth RM800, while the 2nd to 8th prize winner will each receive a Blackmores hamper worth RM800.

I think my best good deed of the year must have been promoting everyone to donate to Islamic Relief Malaysia as a birthday gift for myself during last Ramadhan. Within less than a month, with Allah's bless and the help of my friends I managed to collect around RM56765.00 of cash and a whole lot of bundle of used clothing & books for donations!

EVENT: Blackmore's 80 Deeds Charity Campaign

Earlier this month I attended a charity event organized by Blackmores in conjunction with their 80th anniversary at the Shelter Home for Children (Shelter) in Petaling Jaya. It was such a lovely day although it rained in the morning for a bit but that didn’t dampen the spirit of Blackmores staff & the children from Shelter & the elderly who enjoyed themselves ♥

A total of RM80,000 worth of Blackmores supplements were pledged to 25 old folks homes and underprivileged children homes in the Klang Valley & Selangor in conjunction with Blackmores’ 80th Anniversary. The announcement came at the 80th Anniversary tea-party celebration with Blackmores employees which was attended by 20 children from Shelter as well as 18 senior citizens from Rumah Charis with their caregivers..

The 80th Anniversary Cake for Blackmore! There should be 80 candles on top of this lovely cake haha. Can't believe they have already been around for so looong, personally I do take Blackmores supplement as a daily intake (multivits, Evening Primrose Oil, Fish Oil etc). I believe in addition of eating a healthy diet as it's our personal responsibility to our body to take in supplements because we cannot guarantee that our everyday food contains enough nutrition and Blackmores is one of the best brands out there for supplements. Committed to the corporate vision of creating a healthier and happier world, Blackmores enjoys an impressive track record spanning across 8 decades in providing quality healthcare products and services to the public.

SHOP: Thimble Boutique, Bangsar

I went to Thimble Boutique a week ago and just had to share the photos of the wonderful boutique! :)

As soon as I came in I was greeted by the wonderful scents of the Voluspa & Tocca luxury scented candles all over the room ♥ I've heard of Voluspa before but have never had the chance to 'sniff' it in person hehe but once we did (and I mean even Naz!) we just sorta fell head over heels for 'em! Thimble has an uhhh-mazing range of Voluspa & Tocca scented items:
Voluspa items starts from RM69 and the candles can go up to RM189, diffuser at RM229. But it's totally worth it, got myself two of the Voluspa candles and the scent just makes the whole room smells uber nice (& romantic ahem!)

REVIEW: eMall App by Karangkraf

I was introduced to this app by Alwani Fickry, my friend from KarangKraf Media Group. Once I read her raving about it I was pretty sure I just had to try it out myself, plus I don't have anything to lose right? Reading on the go has always been my style anyways, and without the hassle of carrying all my favorite magazines in tow; well that's just a huge plus point for me!

So I started off by searching eMall from the app store on my iPad, found and installed it:
Search "eMall", download & installed. Super easy!

REVIEW: Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag

Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag, honestly I have never understood what's the fuss about. Let's take a quick read over the Balenciaga history shall we?

Nicholas Ghesquière (via)

Balenciaga is a fashion house founded by Cristóbal Balenciaga, a Basque designer, born in Spain. He had a reputation as a couturier of uncompromising standards and was referred to as "the master of us all" by Christian Dior. (source) Nicolas Ghesquière announced at the age of 12 that he wanted to be a designer, though he now admits this was partly from an adolescent desire to do something different from his parents and to alleviate country boredom. Through his contacts with Marie-Amélie Sauve and Nathalie Marrec, of Balenciaga, Ghesquière eventually landed a job doing the licensing for Balenciaga and designing for the Asian market. It was from there that he was plucked to be the new designer for the house, which had limited success since the 1970s (the label's founder, Cristóbal Balenciaga, died in 1972).

We don’t often get a peek behind the scenes at the business and logistical decisions that go into making our favorite handbags a reality, but thanks to a Women’s Wear Daily interview with Balenciaga genius Nicolas Ghesquiere, we now know a little bit more about one of the most popular bag designs in the modern accessories world: The Balenciaga Motorcycle Bag. Ghesquiere tells WWD that he made the prototype at the behest of company brass, and they dismissed it as too soft, too lightweight and too lacking in structure. As it turns out, all the things that they thought would make it unpopular are what make the design so beloved. Those of us who have loved and adored our fair share of Balenciaga bags over the years have one group of people to thank for it: Models.

That’s right; if it weren’t for the models, we wouldn’t have a single Motorcycle bag in our collections. Ghesquiere says that he convinced his corporate minders to allow him to produce the bags just for the runway show so that the girls would have something to carry while they walked, but the models (most notably Kate Moss) were so immediately smitten with the design that he knew he had a winning bag on his hands. When Kate Moss tells you that something is cool, it’s in the best interest of everyone who stands to profit to listen to her. (source)

Okay got a little carried away reading all the history of the Balenciaga house & Motorcycle Bag! But indeed it is a very interesting read, isn't it? Nowadays it's not only Kate Moss who loves the Motorcycle Bag but almost all the famous celebrities has a soft spot for the bag for it's versatility & edgy style. It's cited that Nicole Richie had thirteen in every color in all different sizes!

"Suitable for all women, Balenciaga motorcycle bags are absolutely unique from other bags. The kind of leather used in these bags is one of the main features that contribute to the fame and popularity of Balenciaga motorcycle bags. Made from the thinnest, softest and light weight leather, the Balenciaga bags are quite exclusive and durable in appearance. The fact that these bags are made from such a material imply that the bags do not wear and tear out easily. Although the kind of leather used in the Balenciaga motorcycle bags looks very distressed but each Balenciaga bag is unique and no two bags look identical."
